The weekend ahead...

I'm off to Berlin this weekend for the first time, so this little roundup is going to encompass things that are going on in the holy trinity of cities that is Bristol, London, and Berlin. First things first, I've got to rep one of our Best Before parties with the UFO lads that's going on this Saturday at Timbuk2 in Bristol.

best before: & UFO
Back in the basement.
Saturday 29th March @ Timbuk2 (Small St, Bristol BS1)

After three years away, Bristol's original "anything goes" party returns to the city's favourite rave cellar for a very special event...

Room 1: Original Cellar Sound
Quality house, techno, nu-disco, Italo and Balearica

CHATEAU FLIGHT(Versatile/Innervisions)
LUKAS (Buoyancy/Players Paradise)
LEGENDARY TONE & SELL BY DAVE (best before:)

Room 2: Uncle P-Funk's Block Party
80s electro, electrofunk, P-funk, block party hip-hop

JOE HART (Bloc Weekender/Nuclear Winter)
POWERCUT & MR LINGO (Funk From The Trunk/Bloom Festival)
ANDY CLARKSON (Payback Hifi/Stereo Freeze)
THE KELLY TWINS(UFO/best before:)

It'll be Gilb'r doing a solo DJ set which I'm pretty gutted about missing, but I'm spoilt for choice this weekend in Berlin. I'm still undecided as to what I'm going to! There's three decent things on Friday - Brothers Vibe and Sascha Dive repping the Deep Vibes label over at Tape; a Dial label extravaganza at Panorama Bar with Lawrence, Pantha Du Prince and My My's Carsten Klemann (his collaboration with Carsten Jost still hasn't dropped yet - keep a look out over the coming weeks); but I'll more than likely be heading over to Weekend to watch the sun come up as Prins Thomas struts his stuff on the decks.

On Saturday it's all about the bigger clubs, with Watergate hosting live sets from Donnacha Costello and Cadenza's Pikaya, along with DJ sets from the latter and Carsten Klemann. If I can muster the strength, I'll be heading along to Panorama Bar on Sunday afternoon to check out sets from Larry Heard and Cassy. Does anyone have any idea when the afternoon sets start/go on til at all?

Not much of an idea what's happening in London this weekend, but the place that you should all be on Saturday night is Fabric. Not only are they hosting Villalobos in the main room, but the lineup for room 3 is pretty damn stellar. Patrice Scott makes a rare UK appearance (which, for my money makes the night worth going to on its own) alongside I-F and Clone's Serge, sealing what's sure to be an excellent evening of music.

Anyway, whatever you're up to this weekend, have a good one and take care!
