Kiss Me Corpid

Hellurgh.

There's a crop of really decent netlabels springing up all over the shop, offering up their artists' tracks for free. It never fails to amaze me quite how many outlets there are for new music at the moment, and it's admirable that there are producers out there willing to forego payment in order to get their tunes heard. One such label is Germany-based Corpid, purveyors of all things house, techno and electro, with the inevitable (but not unwelcome) whiff of minimalism all over its extensive wares. Pick of the bunch is Drei Farben House, whose Fashion EP is a two-tracked, tight tech-house celebration of, er, clothesmaking. But fear not, the music is far from the insipid moron's electroclash that such a subject might suggest; instead you get tough rhythms iced with serene ambient effects and dislocated, acoustic guitar sounds. Not bad at all, and a fucksight better than some of the shit I've wasted eight quid on in my life. Head to the Corpid site to get the B-side and have a mosey around, and for more info on Drei Farben House head here. Here's the A-side, 'Wearability'.....

P.S. It pains me to say it - but new Big Brother is superb. 'High spec bitch', anyone?

Nice tune.Bit of a Metro Area vibe to it, don't you reckon? That reliable, plodding beat.
BB never lets us down these days, though I'm convinced it must've peaked already with the last celeb version. Did Shabaz do anything to deserve that assassination? Felt like I was back at school.

i know. brutal, the canadian gay dude is evil. and you're right - the last celeb bb was basically the high watermark of western civilization.

I was also really distressed by the Lord of the Fliesiness of it - everyone cackling evilly as he was locked outside, and Nikky saying something like "no, do this, it will hurt him more." Its made me really despise them all, with the exception of Peter who I think is a very lovely person.

Nice one on the readers charts.. great concept.

We're having Prince week over on Dilated Choonz

kevvy k - you're right. it really wasn't quite frightening. Peter definitely seems lovely - almost TOO lovely? I literally can' imagine ANYONE else winning, which means he may do something very bad in the next few weeks - knife attack? god knows. glad you like the readers' chart idea, we'll definitely ask you to do one for us in the near future. viva prince!

Sad to admit i'm hooked on this as well.

Much as Shabaz was one of the biggest dickheads ever to grace our television screens, it was still painful to watch 12 other people attempting to destroy this clearly troubled man.

Respect to Pete. All the others can fuck off and die.

That stupid cow (nikki?) claiming that she was about to die of dehydration and she could only drink bottled water made me cry.

Could you imagine being locked in a house for 13 weeks with that lot????

Big Brother's only nice contestant

"When I was a student a few years back I worked in a juice bar outside Churchill Square (the big shopping-centre in Brighton). I was stuck in there all day by myself and I took lots of fag breaks. One day i forgot my lighter - I asked a customer for a light. It happened to be Pete from Big Brother. Without saying anything he disappeared and returned five minutes later having bought me a lighter from the newsagent down the road, refusing
to take any money for it. Nice guy.

hey, ease up on the sandals - another thing the germans have got right (besides electronic music) is the wearing of sandals & socks. So comfy, so healthy! Apparently this is a choice ghetto look in the USA. Bizarre.

High quality as always chaps.

Thought I would leave a first comment to tell you about Relevee's arrival at Phonica this afternoon. Grins all round as the masses just put their hands out and put them into the yes pile without even listening to the fucker.
