What next?

Plans are now firmly set in motion for the next stage of Tape's bid for world domination. In collaboration with Mike and Gaz from Vagisness, our new night will be starting at the beginning of April. Any ideas for the name? No, seriously.. we're at a loose end as our first choice, 'Fidget', is already being used by another club night in Southampton. Any contributions would be muchly appreciated, just whack them in the comments to this post. Anyway, for the time being, me and Mr Carnage are off to see Recloose at System vs. Futureboogie down at Native. Here's my current listening:

1. J Dilla - Donuts LP // Stones Throw
sadly departed producer's last album, hip hop that i actually like, for a change!
2. Skream - Skreamism 2x12 // Tempa
seemingly getting better and better, superb dubstep
3. S-max/Fym - Get On 12" // Boogizm
snail's pace wonky house, maybe not for the dancefloor?
4. Candido - Thousand Finger Man 12" // Salsoul
classic disco cut I can't get enough of
5. Belle and Sebastian - The Life Pursuit LP // Rough Trade
the best band in Britain, obviously
6. Joe Gibbs - Roots, Culture, Dj's and Dub LP // Soul Jazz
mmmm.......
7. Marek Hemman - Ropy 12" // MMR
minimal producer that has been receiving my attention
8. Theo Parrish - Falling Up (Carl Craig Remix) // Third Ear
everywhere and for good reason
9. Salif Keita - Yamore (Luciano Remix) // Cadenza
malian minimal masterpiece, wiggin!
10. Jeff Samuel - Bork 12" // Trapez
loadsa bass on this Herbert-like tune

'Mutant Pop' is the best name I've come up with since the Fidget news. Apart from not being one word, it's got it all for me. Great tune (one that all of the Tape triumvirate own), and it also sounds friendly and fun. Anyone got any better ideas? Apart from just calling it Tape of course... It'd be nice wouldn't it?
