Trackwerk Your Body

First things first, big thanks to everyone who came out to TAPE last Friday. Bass Clef pulled a set of garage bangers and grime instrumentals out of the bag which decimated the floor, and then Peverelist wowed us with a brilliant set that went from deep pulsating narco-dubstep through to some jungle classics. He played a new Pinch track (may be a remix or an original... no idea sorry!) that's forthcoming on Immerse which sounded amazing, so keep on the look out for that. Also, props to Big Ting's Jay Le Surgeon for getting the dancefloor nice and toasty earlier on with some mixed up party vibes. Apologies to anyone that spoke to me near the end - I was so pissed by then that I can't even remember leaving the club!

Summer Summons was really good fun as well (thanks to Abbie and the crew for having me down), but I was rueing my decision to bring a fairly deep box about half an hour into my set. I managed to cobble together a decent selection of more pumping bits (though I never would've thought that I'd be able to get away with playing Robert Hood before midnight struck!), and got my strangest request ever - "Err... Do you have any Lil John?". At least he wasn't asking for Pendulum!

Our next TAPE party on May 16th is a pretty special one as far as we're concerned, and we're both incredibly excited about it. We've been wanting to get Philip Sherburne over for a set for a long time now, and we've finally got him confirmed for what I gather (correct me if I'm wrong, Phil!) is his first ever gig on English soil. Not only do we have the Sherburnator, but we've got a Modern Love double header courtesy of the Pendle Coven lads (pictured above). For their first ever Bristol appearance they're doing a live set for us, and we'll also be treated to a DJ set from Miles (otherwise known as MLZ). The bill is rounded off with a set from Nick Gutterbreakz under his Patchwerk Man moniker (check out his track 'Rooted' in the mix below), who'll be rocking out a pure techno set for your delectation. As usual things will be happening at the 200 capacity Native club on Small Street, so I'll make sure to let you know when we put the tickets on sale.
